אֱלֹהֵינוּ בָּרֵךְ נָא אֶת קְרוֹבֵינוּ וִידִידֵינוּ אָדוֹן כָּל הַבְּרוּאִים בְּרֹב חַסְדֶּךָ הַגַּן עַל יוֹשְׁבֵי עוֹלָמְךָ וּפְרֹס עֲלֵיהֶם סֻכַּת שְׁלוֹמֶךָ הָסֵר מִקִּרְבָּם שִׂנְאָה וְאֵיבָה וְטַע בְּלִבָּם אַהֲבָה וְאַחְוָה שָׁלוֹם וְרֵעוּת	Боже, Благослови наших близьких та друзів! This is prayer for Ukraine by Miriam Klimova in Hebrew and Ukrainian first shared via her Facebook page on 24 February 2022. An English translation was prepared by Rabbi Lior Nevo from the Hebrew, which I have edited so as to be closer to the Ukrainian text. –Aharon Varady

Rabbi Lior Nevo (translation)

Rabbi Lior Nevo serves as a chaplain at Hebrew SeniorLife, in the Greater Boston Area. She grew up in Jerusalem, Israel, and has a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Jewish Thought from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She got her master’s degree in Pluralistic Jewish Education in a joint program of Hebrew University and Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. In 2015 Lior was ordained as a rabbi at HUC-JIR in Jerusalem.

Miriam Klimova

Miriam Klimova is student-rabbi of Shirat Ha-Yam congregation in Haifa. She grew up in Lviv, studied Judaism in Poland and moved to Israel in 2018. She is currently a rabbinic student at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem.

Here trees will never wear the shtreimel-snow. Yet here in the pine’s shade I can hear all My childhood, brought to life from long ago.
צִלְצוּל הַמְּחָטִים: הָיֹה הָיָה אֶקְרָא מוֹלֶדֶת לְמֶרְחַב-הַשֶּׁלֶג, לְקֶרַח יְרַקְרַק כּוֹבֵל הַפֶּלֶג, לִלְשׁוֹן הַשִּׁיר בְּאֶרֶץ נָכְרִיָּה.
